WTF is up....

WTF is up with this town! I mean the roads...sure we have been hit with some pretty nasty weather but come on! And yes I know that the town is short staffed but come on! I have had to walk to and from work because the roads have either been snowed in or icier then hell. But today has taken the cake. I had to drive today because my son needed to get important blood work done after school. No this could not wait because of an incident that happened 6 weeks ago while with his father (notice that he was not in my care at the time!!!!). I drove the kids to school and drove (SLID) DOWN the hill! I was not going at a high rate of speed.....actually I was coasting in nuetral down the hill and still I slid through (and Murphy's Law happenes to state that there were cars coming at that precise moment)!! Oh and that is not the end of the story. After work I have to go get the kids from school, which means attempting to climb that friggin hill. Now my van is not the greatest at this. I start to go up one hill...couldn't make it. Turn the corner and go back down to find a nicer street...once I turn that corner it is blocked by a tractor pulling a truck out of a big drift!!! Crap my van will never make it if that truck couldn't. Needless to say I get through that and go up another street....I have gotten some speed up and I figure that I will make it up that hill! I get about 2 feet from the intersection and I am spinning tires...lose speed and I am stuck on this hill!!!! Quickly whip out the cell phone and call the school to get the kids to stay in until I come in to get them, then call dad. While I the phone I am so frustrated and scared that I burst into tears! To end the story Dad came and got me, we got the kids, he got my van up the hill, and I got my son's blood work done. OH I SO NEED A STIFF DRINK RIGHT NOW!!!! Would someone PLEASE (preferably with knowledge) get the town crew trained in how to take care of winter roads! OK my rant is done....I don't feel better yet....Oh I need a drink!!!
